Frequently Asked Questions

What is Coaching in the first Place?

Coaching is about leveraging a person's or group's existing potential. Oftentimes we would like to evolve into a specific direction and are already aware of some of its opportunities and blockages. In coaching we work with these in a very creative fashion.
This is how transformation can happen more quickly, more sustainably, and often even with joy. Sometimes change is only possible in this way.

Is Coaching some kind of Therapy?

As a coach I apply some modalities that have proven their effectiveness in psychotherapy already. However, coaching must not be called psychotherapy. Indeed, there are differences between the two. Originally psychotherapy was designed with a view on clinical pictures whereas coaching is more about our daily trials and tribulations. At the same time I have observed that therapy and coaching have grown closer over the years. An example of this is that both often work with mindfulness tools. I apply psychotherapy techniques because in my experience they can be quite successful in enabling personal and group transformation.

Who works with a Coach?

Briefly: Successful individuals who want to elicit change. They are aware that with the help of modern psychological tools one can have a considerable impact on one's mindset, comparable to the effect sport can have on the body.

Why Man, Woman, but rarely Queer?

Of course my offering is meant to reach the diversity of human nature, both with a clearly definable gender and in any colour of the LGBTQIA+ rainbow. Frequently I use the terms man and woman as placeholders for certain stereotypes. As such it is quite possible that they also apply to queer individuals.
